PM Modi to flag off Vande Bharat express train from Gandhinagar on September 30 | Ahmedabad News


AHMEDABAD: Union railway minister Ashwini Vaishnav on Tuesday announced that the work for the Ahmedabad-Mumbai Bullet train was on track, and the city multimodal hub which is coming up at Sabarmati, will be ready by January or February next year.
He said that the first Vande Bharat express will be flagged off on September 30.
About the Vande Bharat train, he said that the first train will be flagged off from Gandhinagar by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and thereafter, three to four Vande Bharat trains will be flagged off.
He said that the train gets to the speed of 100 in just 52 seconds and videos have shown that the train is moving steady at even 180 km per hour.
Vaishnav, who visited the multimodal hub in Sabarmati on Tuesday, announced that the work on the Mumbai section of the Ahmedabad-Mumbai bullet train will soon begin on the ground as all the necessary permission including environment and forest clearance have been received soon after chief minister Eknath Shinde took over.
He said that the National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) has got possession of the Bandra-Kurla Speed at the HSR Station.
The minister said that the only stretch which is remaining is the undersea tunnel and the tender for the same would also be floated soon.
Vaishnav said that the pillar for 80 km stretch have been constructed and the construction of all the bullet stations have also begun.
