11 women from Allahabad participate in Kashmir cycle rally | Allahabad News


PRAYAGRAJ: To spread the message of women empowerment, 11 women from Allahabad participated in the 65km cycle rally, held at Kashmir valley on September 11.
The cycle rally was named ‘Ride Kashmir Cycle Rally’ and a total of 75 women from different cities participated in it.
The starting point of the rally was Baramulla and it ended at the Command Aman Setu at Uri.
The women from Prayagraj who participated in the rally included Dr Dr Ritu Jain, Sumita Parmar, Dr Anuradha Verma, Dr Amita Gupta, Dr Mona Dubey, Dr Meera Laktakia, Dr Vyanjana Pandey, Prerna Saran, Ragini Chandel, Neelu Shukla and Prof Archana Chahel. These women reached the city on Tuesday and shared their experiences. They were given a certificates of appreciation and medals from the Indian Army which organised the rally.
“It was an experience of a lifetime and we never felt any threat or disturbance that we had normally heard of in the Kashmir Valley. The locals, including Kashmiri women and young girls cheered us all along the 65km track,” Dr Ritu Jain said.
