AHMEDABAD: Former member of Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS) Ketan Patel, who turned approver in the sedition case against former PAAS leader Hardik Patel, accused the chairman of his housing society and another resident of attacking him.
He filed a complaint with Chandkheda police on Monday against Shailesh Trivedi, the chairman of Marutinandan Society in Motera, and Pravin Patel, a resident of the society. Trivedi also filed a complaint against Ketan Patel, his driver and a cop deployed for Ketan’s security.
Ketan stated in his complaint that Trivedi and Pravin Patel were harassing him by not allowing him to sell his house. He alleged that Trivedi and Pravin had been demanding money from him to let him sell the house.
On Saturday morning, Ketan, his driver Shankar Thakor, and police jawan Vikram Vasava, were on their way to Ketan’s Adalaj house when Trivedi intercepted their vehicle and shouted “cheater”, the FIR alleged.
Ketan said that when he confronted Trivedi and asked him why he had called him a “cheater”, the latter allegedly called him a “cheater” again and punched him on his chest.
Trivedi then allegedly hurled a stone at Ketan, but he dodged it though it injured his hand, the FIR stated. Pravin, too, allegedly assaulted Ketan.
He stated in the FIR that Thakor and Vasava took him to a private hospital in Chandkheda. Later, Ketan filed a complaint of causing hurt and criminal intimidation against Trivedi and Pravin.
Trivedi’s police complaint stated that it was Ketan who called him a “cheater” and that Ketan’s guard and driver had attacked him with a stick. His back was marked with welts and bruises, his complaint stated. Trivedi also filed a complaint of causing hurt, criminal intimidation and abetment against Ketan, Thakor and Vasava.
