AMRITSAR: A bomb threat issued on Monday to the Spring Dale Senior School in Amritsar turned out to be a hoax traced to two Class X students of the school on Tuesday. The fathers of the two studends have been arrested and the school is also likely to take disciplinary action against both students.
Deputy commissioner of police (detective) Mukhwinder Singh Bhullar said during investigation, they traced two mobile numbers which were registered in the names of Davinder Singh, resident of Basant Avenue, and Rohit Marhwa, resident of Suraj Avenue, whose sons study in Class X of the school.
Sources said both students had circulated the threat to blow up the school on September 16 to create panic among school management, so as to postpone the mathematics exam which was to be held on the same date. Mukhwinder said both Davinder and Rohit had been arrested and a case under sections 153 A, 505,507 of the IPC and the IT Act 2000 had been registered against them.
