Uttar Pradesh: Teen girl foils abduction bid, reaches thana to register FIR | Lucknow News

LUCKNOW: A 16-year-old girl fought vehemently with her three kidnappers, managed to free herself from their clutches and reached the local police station to lodge her complaint in Bahraich on Tuesday.
The girl thwarted a kidnapping attempt by an e-rickshaw driver and two of his friends in Bahraich on Tuesday, police said. An FIR has been lodged against the trio and manhunt launched to nab them, they said.
The girl told TOI that the incident took place when she boarded an e-rickshaw on her way home from school on Tuesday afternoon.
“I grew suspicious when the auto driver took an unusual route from Tikonibagh. By the time I could question him, two of his associates joined him and tried to drag and pull me into the thickets near Marimata ka mandir,” she said.
She fought bravely with her tormentors and managed to free herself. Thereafter she ran towards the main road from where she took an auto to reach the police outpost of Tikora. “Luckily, I spotted my uncle there who took me to the police. Cops then called my parents and lodged an FIR,” she added. SP KK Chaudhary said: “We are working on the case and will nab the accused soon.”
The girl’s mother said: “My daughter is still in a state of trauma. We will not rest till the perpetrators are arrested.” The girl’s father owns a small two-wheeler and bicycle tyre shop and she is second among four siblings.
