Punjab agriculture minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal meets Arvind Kejriwal over stubble burning | Chandigarh News

CHANDIGARH: Punjab agriculture minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal on Wednesday met Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal to discuss measures taken by the Punjab government to prevent stubble burning.
He briefed him about awareness and vigilance teams being set up, publicity campaigns and subsidies provided to farmers on agricultural implements to check pollution due to farm fires.
Dhaliwal later said that Kejriwal had assured full cooperation to stop the pollution caused by paddy straw burning. He added that the Punjab government would make efforts to make farmers aware about the ill effects of stubble burning, besides this agricultural implements would also be provided at low prices.
He said that apart from agriculture department, Mandi Board, Pollution Control Board, various other departments of the Punjab government will run various campaigns to prevent stubble burning.
