Chhattisgarh to host India International Challenge 2022 from September 20 | Badminton News

RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh will host its first ever international challenge badminton tournament in Raipur from September 20 to 25, said Badminton Association of India general secretary Sanjay Mishra on Saturday.
The event titled CM Trophy India International Challenge 2022 carries a total prize pool of $15,000 and is categorised as an international challenge event.
The qualifying matches will be played on September 20 and 21 followed by Main Draws from September 22 to 25. Around 550 shuttlers from 12 nations, including hosts India, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Canada, America, Maldives, Mauritius, United Arab Emirates, Malaysia, Japan, Uganda and Jambiya will be participating in the prestigious event. Players will have an opportunity to improve their international rankings through this tournament, said the BAI general secretary.
Ishaan Bhatnagar, Aakarshi Kashyap, Juhi Dewangan, Siddharth Pratap Singh, Malvika Bansod and Venkat Gaurav, who belong to Chhattisgarh, will play the Main Draws directly while 18 other players from the state will have to go through the qualifying draws, he said.
