New logistics policy: ‘Aim for cheetah speed’ | India News

NEW DELHI: Targeting to make Indian products globally competitive, PM Modi Saturday set a goal to bring down the cost of logistics to single digit “as soon as possible” from the current 13-14% of GDP. He urged the industry and all stakeholders to ensure that freight deliveries in India happen at the speed of “cheetah”.
Unveiling the National Logistics Policy, the PM said cutting down logistics cost is a “low hanging fruit” when it comes to ease of business and the policy aims to expedite last-mile delivery, helping businesses save time and money. High logistics cost has been identified as one of the biggest challenges for Indian products to be globally competitive.
