Punjab: Centre interfering in water issues, says Farmers | Chandigarh News


BATHINDA: Five farm groups – Bharti Kisan Union (Rajewal), All India Kisan Federation, Kisan Sangharsh Committee, Bharti Kisan Union (Mansa) and Azad Kisan Sangharsh Committee – held a meeting in Chandigarh on Friday where they accused the Centre of interfering by passing executive orders on a state subject like water sharing. Presiding over the meeting, farm unionists Balbir Rajewal and Prem Bhangu said Centre’s act amounted to anti-federalism. The groups announced to hold conferences at Morinda on September 20, Butterkalan in Amritsar on September 25, Nabha on October 5, at Handiaya in Barnala on October 10, and Talwandi Bhai in Ferozepur on October 15.
