Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai fumes over flex troll in Hyderabad | Bengaluru News

BENGALURU: Chief minister Basavaraj Bommai reacted sharply to banners on display in parts of Hyderabad in Telangana which trolled the Karnataka government over the 40% kickback accusations levelled by civil contractors.
A banner which said ‘Welcome to 40% CM’, installed near Parade Ground in Hyderabad, is being seen as a dig at Bommai and comes amid an ongoing ‘poster war’ between Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and BJP over Union home minister Amit Shah’s rally on Telangana Liberation Day on Saturday (September 17).
Bommai described the message as an “organised conspiracy” and said such behaviour would adversely impact the cordial relationship between the states.
“I haven’t been to Telangana, so I haven’t seen the banners,” Bommai said. “I don’t know whether they were erected by private individuals or the government. The [Telangana] government should not have allowed it even if it is done by private individuals. These kinds of developments will adversely impact the bilateral relationship between states.”
Calling it a “planned conspiracy aimed at tarnishing the image of Karnataka”, Bommai said one state should not meddle in the affairs of another. “Would it be proper if we put up posters about corruption charges against the Telangana government? Similarly, the Telangana government should not encourage this,” he said
