Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath becomes first person to have 51 lakh followers on Koo | Lucknow News


LUCKNOW: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath has amassed 51 lakh followers on the indigenous social media app Koo since February 2021, becoming the first person on this platform to reach this milestone. His office has said that the CM’s followers are “organic”, genuine supporters who started following him on their own and there are at least 28 states and more than 70 countries where he has at least 10 followers each.
“The CM is far ahead of any Opposition leader, other chief ministers and even foreign leaders. On Twitter, among other CMs, Nitish Kumar has 78 lakh followers, Mamata Banerjee has 70 lakh followers, while Ashok Gehlot has 42 lakh followers. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has 2.14 crore followers, while his sister Priyanka Gandhi has 50 lakh followers. SP’s Akhilesh Yadav has 1.72 crore followers,” said a government spokesperson.
He added that the CM is active on social media platforms like Twitter, Facebook, Instagram etc and that all his posts are in Hindi.
On Koo, he makes about six posts a day and since he joined the platform on February 9, 2021, he has posted more than 3,000 times. The CM office has another account on Koo, which has more than 6 lakh followers and makes an average of 10 posts in a day.
“On some platforms, there are two accounts of the CM, like on Twitter. On Twitter, if both accounts are combined, the CM has 2.94 crore followers. On Instagram, he has 37 lakh followers while on Facebook he has 72 lakh followers,” the spokesperson said.
