Bengaluru: Under fire, South Western Railway resumes Hosur Memu train | Bengaluru News

BENGALURU: Under criticism for the cancellation of the Yeshwantpur-Hosur Demu train, South Western Railway (SWR) on Monday said they would run Memu services from Thursday.
Officials said 06591 Yeshwantpur-Hosur unreserved Memu express special will leave at 6.10am and reach Hosur at 7.50am. In the return direction, 06592 Hosur-Yeshwantpur will leave Hosur at 8.15am and reach Yeshwantpur at 9.50am.
TOI had carried an article titled ‘Outer Ring Road choked but SWR runs just two pairs of Memu trains’ on September 14. This Memu train, which passes through areas such as Hebbal, Banaswadi, Bellandur, Carmelaram, Heelalige, and Anekal Road, is expected to help office-goers, especially techies working in ORR, Sarjapur Road and Electronics City.
Separately, SWR has also decided to introduce 06593/06594 Yeshwantpur-Devanahalli-Yeshwantpur unreserved Memu express from Thursday. 06593 Yeshwantpur-Devanahalli will leave Yeshwantpur at 10am and reach KIA halt station at 10.44am and Devanahalli at 10.55am. On the return direction, 06594 Devanahalli-Yeshwantpur will leave Devanahalli at 12.30pm and reach KIA halt station at 12.36pm and Yeshwantpur at 2.15pm. “This Memu train has a halt at KIA station, so it will help passengers traveling between the airport and Yeshwantpur,” said an official.
