Pune: One killed, five injured as Shivshahi bus collides with container | Pune News


PUNE: A Shivshahi semi-luxury bus collided head on with a container truck killing one person and injuring five others at Uruli Devachi on Saswad road in Pune around 12.05am on Monday.
Vehicles were thrown out of gear for nearly 45 minutes.
Passenger Sanjay Bhaide (52) from Murud-Zanzira died due to multiple injuries.
The five others injured include passengers Prakash Patil (70) from Alibaug and Shruti Thombre (28) from Handewadi, bus driver Kasim Mulani (30) from Akluj in Solapur, conductor Absaso Metkar (21) from Sangola and container driver Maheshsingh Panchanandsingh (58) from Shikrapur.
They sustained injuries to their head, legs and other parts of body. They are recuperating in various hospitals. Their condition is reported to be stable.
Sub-inspector Pramod Hambir from Loni Kalbhor police said, “A CCTV footage showed that the Shivshahi bus run by the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) ferrying more than 20 passengers was heading to Swargate from Pandharpur when its driver lost control over the vehicle while over taking an autorickshaw ahead of him and collided head on with the container truck heading in the direction of Saswad from Hadapsar.”
