Haryana gangster shot dead indaylight outside Nagaur court | Jaipur News


JAIPUR: A criminal from Haryana, Sandeep Sethi alias Sandeep Bishnoi, who was returning from his court appearance in a murder case at the additional district judge (ADJ) court in Nagaur was shot dead in the presence of policemen and local residents in broad daylight outside the court. At least six armed assailants opened fire outside the court in which three of Sethi’s aides and a lawyer also sustained bullet injuries.
According to police, Sandeep Sethi had come to the ADJ court in a murder case and got bail. “As he walked out of the court at 1.30pm on Monday, at least six armed assailants opened fire at him near the main road. Sethi sustained grave bullet injuries and succumbed. Three of his aides and a lawyer also sustained injuries,” said additional director general of police (ADG), traffic, VK Singh to TOI.
The incident took place close to the residence of Nagaur SP Ram Murty Joshi. “It appears to be gang war and the assailants could be from Haryana. Sethi was into liquor smuggling and contract killing and associated with another Sethi gang of Haryana,” said a senior police officer. After the incident, chaos prevailed outside on the road.
A large number of policemen, including Nagaur SP Ram Murty Joshi arrived at the scene along with a team from the forensic science laboratory (FSL).
“It appears that the assailants were carrying sophisticated weapons. Nine rounds were fired at Sethi and he was declared dead at the hospital,” the officer said.
When contacted, SP Joshi said, “The incident took place on the main road outside the court premises. He was on a bail in a 2019 murder case. Various teams are out to trace and arrest the assailants. Some people have been detained for questioning.”
After the incident, the Nagaur police put up barricades across the town and at all exit routes to nab the shooters. “He had ties with the Sethi gang of Haryana. His name cropped up in the case of the murder of a businessman in Nagaur. It had come up during investigation that a woman had hired Sethi to take revenge for the murder of her husband and paid him Rs 30 lakh,” said the officer.
Police stated that Sethi had 25 criminal cases against him in Haryana and Rajasthan. Additional director general, SOG and ATS, Ashok Rathore has been sent to Nagaur after the incident.
