Nitish Kumar says he has no ‘personal ambition’ but to promote young people like Tejashwi Yadav in all fields | Patna News

PATNA: Bihar CM Nitish Kumar on Tuesday said he has no personal ambition but to promote young people like RJD leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav in all fields.
While turning towards Tejashwi who was standing beside him, Nitish said, “I have to promote these people in all fields. I have no desire for myself. I have to work to promote the people of the new generation.”
The CM was responding to media queries while coming out of the Adhiveshan Bhavan along with his deputy Tejashwi where both the leaders distributed job letters among 4,325 newly appointed revenue employees of the state’s revenue and land reforms department.
Responding to a query, the CM also denied speculations that he might contest the next Lok Sabha polls from Phulpur in Uttar Pradesh. “I have interests in only one thing. I am working to unite the maximum number of political parties across the country. If a maximum number of political parties forge unity, then we get a big success in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. I am working only in this direction. I have no desire for myself,” Nitish said.
“I am telling you with folded hands that please do not give much attention to who says what about me. Local people and supporters keep speaking in favour of their leaders. But I have no “choice” for myself. All choices are for the country. If maximum parties get united and contest together (against the BJP) in 2024 polls, then the prevailing situation in the country would change,” Nitish said.
The CM also alleged that the Centre has been maintaining a “covert control” over certain institutions including some media houses, and no work for peoples’ welfare was being executed at the ground level.
He said some people (BJP leaders) were making attempts to create conflict among the people of different communities to take advantage during the coming elections. “I am against the divisive agenda and hence I am working to forge unity among the maximum number of opposition parties across the country to get success in the 2024 polls,” Nitish said.
To a question, Nitish said he and Tejashwi both would visit Haryana on September 25 to participate in the Indian National Lok Dal’s ‘Samman Diwas’ rally being organised on the birth anniversary of former deputy prime minister Choudhary Devi Lal.
Earlier while addressing the gathering of newly appointed revenue employees, the CM asked the state’s chief secretary Amir Subhani to identify vacancies in different departments of the state government and expedite works to fill up all the vacancies by new appointments.
The CM asked the newly appointed employees to work with dedication in resolving the land related disputes because most of the crimes in the state occur mainly because of land disputes. “If you resolve the land related disputes on time, many problems will be automatically solved,” Nitish said.
