Rahul Gandhi will highlight injustices meted out to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana: Uttam KUmar Reddy | Hyderabad News

HYDERABAD: All India Congress Committee coordinator coordinator of Bharat Jodo Yatra for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana N Uttam Kumar Reddy on Tuesday said Rahul Gandhi will speak about the failure of BJP government at the centre to implement the promises made to the two Telugu States in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act.
“Rahul Gandhi has started his walkathon to save the country from divisive forces with the slogan Bharat Jodo- Nafrat Chodo. He would be covering 3,500 km by walking from Kanyakumari to Kashmir covering 12 states in 150 days,” Uttam said.
Rahul Gandhi will enter Andhra Pradesh from Karnataka on October 20. The Yatra will continue for four days in Andhra Pradesh before entering Telangana on October 24. The walkathon would go on for 15 days in Telangana passing through four Lok Sabha including nine Assembly constituencies covering 366 km.
Uttam appealed to the party leaders, cadres and people to make the walkathon in both the Telugu states a grand success. Addressing a coordination meeting of Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) office bearers, PCC members and DCC Presidents of AP in Vijayawada on Tuesday, Uttam discussed the elaborate arrangements to be made for Rahul Gandhi’s Yatra. AP Congress president S Sailajanath and other senior leaders participated.
“By ensuring huge participation, the Telugu states can convey a strong message that they are against hatred and reject the divisive policies and politics of RSS, BJP and their allies. Till today, Bharat Jodo Yatra has received a tremendous public response in the last 13 days. So far, Rahul Gandhi covered nearly 280 km in Tamil Nadu and the Kerala states,” Uttam said.
Rahul Gandhi will highlight about the failure of BJP government at the centre to implement the promises made to the Telugu states in the State Reorganisation Act and also other injustices meted out to Telangana and AP. He would also be talking about the increasing prices of fuel and essential commodities and unemployment reaching an all-time high in recent years, said Uttam.
Uttam highlighted the fact that Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ would be the biggest event of the Congress in Andhra Pradesh after the state was bifurcated in 2014 to carve out Telangana. People have now realised that bifurcation was the right decision taken by Congress president Sonia Gandhi which benefited the people of both regions.
