30 villagers booked for disrupting Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority work | Gurgaon News

GURUGRAM: Thirty villagers were booked on Monday for allegedly disrupting the GMDA‘s work on the dividing road in Sector 78-79. An FIR was registered on Tuesday.
According to officials, a threat was given to the construction company hired by the GMDA to carry out the work. As per the complaint, Hoshiyar Singh, ex-chairman of Naurangpur village along with a mob of approximately 30 villagers arrived at the site armed with guns and sticks.
The bituminous material, machinery and manpower was diverted to a different location forcefully by using weapons. “The villagers, led by ex-chairman Singh, arrived with guns and sticks and forcefully took the machinery and manpower to different locations on PWD BR road disrupting the GMDA work and threatening the workers to work at that location. The GMDA material was forced to be laid on a different site causing loss to the department,” the complaint said.
An FIR was filed at Kherki Daula police station on Tuesday under sections 148 (Rioting), 149 (unlawful assembly), 186 (obstructing any public servant), 323 (causing hurt), 353 (assault to deter public servant), 427 (mischief causing damage), and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC.
